Did you know that illegal fishing can destroy fisheries and pose a threat to the economic wellbeing of coastal villages? We work with Portugal's local communities and we're continually looking for better ways to support the economy and people’s livelihoods.
We're happy to have partnered with the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society that stands for marine life protection and rebels at sea, while we keep watch on the shore. Let us share with you why this collaboration is important and contributes to our mutual effort for a better planet.
Sea Shepherd has been fighting for the oceans, marine life, and environmental protection from 1977 onwards.
And this is only a fraction of their work!
Through their programs, Sea Shepherd has saved the lives of countless sea animals, from whales, dolphins and turtles, to sharks and even aquatic birds. They've prevented illegal captivity, poaching, and unethical fishing practices in a vast majority of coastal countries.
All this work isn't easy, fighting illegal fishing while supporting coastal communities takes a lot of time and effort.
At 50 Rebels, we know that sustainability encompasses a lot more than just ecological sustainability. There are two other essential elements for it to be a true agent of change: social equity and economic viability.
This is why we chose to design and manufacture our e-bikes in Ericeira, Torres Vedras and Agueda, Portugal.
We strive to have the best quality and to make it all as sustainable as we can. We work with the best local suppliers, and now, we’re putting all hands on deck with the Sea Shepherd, rebelling for a good cause together.
Together with the Sea Shepherd, we've designed a new e-bike and dedicated it to the oceans. With every sale, a percentage is going to help protect marine life.
Our hope is to join forces and help ocean fauna, along with the communities we work with.
See? Helping others is easy. Being sustainable is easy. All you have to do is start exactly where you are.
Go and find like minded rebels and fight with us to make Earth, our only home, a better place.
